John Laing is a leading international originator, investor and manager of infrastructure projects. By combining its unique mix of technical, commercial and financial skills with those of its investment, construction and operational partners, the company has built a world-class reputation for efficiently delivering successful public infrastructure.
Our reputation is the product of our success in managing 88 traditional PPP schemes, such as the Intercity Express Programme, the Second Severn Crossing between England and Wales to the Greater Manchester Waste Management PFI as well as strategic partnership structures for healthcare schemes and renewable energy projects. John Laing’s key target sectors include rail, roads, renewable energy, waste and social infrastructure (including hospitals, schools and social housing), focusing on markets in the UK, Continental Europe, North America and the Asia Pacific region.
John Laing has not been involved in building and construction itself since the sales of our construction division in 2001, and of both our property developments division and our house building arm in 2002.
New investment in modern infrastructure will bring inspiration to those who use and work in public assets.
Our mission is:
To modernise public infrastructure for the lasting benefit of communities through deployment of our private sector skills and finance
To be the investment partner of choice in our target infrastructure markets around the world
To exercise responsibility towards the environment, communities and our staff in everything we do
Our objectives for the business are to grow its profitability and value:
• Primary Investment: by winning new opportunities to invest in pre-construction infrastructure projects, and through the successful completion of in-construction projects;
• Secondary Investment: by generating a strong yield from operational projects as well as enhancing their value; and
• Asset Management: by growing our Assets under Management (AUM) and associated fee income through the efficient delivery of investment management services.
