We are seeking Commercial Managers (at all levels of experience) to join our Project Delivery team, within John Laing Projects and Developments (JLPD). The role will provide commercial management in relation to project tendering, contract, and project management.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparation of tender documentation, including selection of tenderers, participation in risk assessments, preparing activity schedules, advise on contractual completeness, collation of tender documents, evaluation of return tenders
• Provision of timely, accurate and concise contract management and cost monitoring information together with providing contractual advise to Project Managers on contractual and commercial elements of a project
• Identification of areas of contractual risk and minimising that risk for John Laing
• Timely production of interim and final accounts, and commercial management reports
• Discuss interim certificates with clients within approved authority levels
• Value and agree Variation Orders in conjunction with senior project managers
• Prepare reports on Variations, Claims, Valuations, Project Accounts and Settlements
• Work with Project Managers in the preparation of Project Management Reports, specifically in relation to cost, cost forecasting, accruals, provisions, contractual status and risk

         Skills and Experience Required:

• Degree qualified, or equivalent, preferred
• RICS / QS qualified desirable, greater practical experience may replace level of qualification
• Ideally 5 years post qualification experience in a civil engineering, or building quantity surveying environment; rail experience desirable
• Broad knowledge of basic forms of contract
• Able to demonstrate a good understanding of contract administration
• Good interpersonal, communication and team management skills
