For the past 7 years staff have been invited to nominate a charity to receive £5,000 from the John Laing Charitable Trust in place of the Company sending Christmas cards.
The most recent donation for 2012 went to The Legacy Rainbow House.
Listed below are the past recipients.
2011 - Transport for Sick Children
Nominated by staff at our Manchester Office, Transport for Sick Children does exactly what the name says and transports sick children to their hospital appointments within the Greater Manchester area.
2010 - PASHA
Homelessness charity PASHA, received the donation which would help them to carry out work in the community.
2009 - The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust
The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust were chosen as 2009 winner.
2008 - Read International
Reed International took the prize in the third annual Christmas Card competition, again all staff were asked to nominate a charity to receive a donation of £5,000 from the John Laing Charitable Trust.
2007 - Chance UK
Organisers of mentoring programmes for 5 to 11 years olds Chance UK won our 2007 Christmas Card donation competition.
2006 - Save a Child
Our first donation in place of sending corporate Christmas Cards went to Save a Child a non profit organisation in Africa. Trust. This award was made after all staff were invited to nominate their favourite charity.
Charitable Donations
All John Laing staff are invited to apply for our staff matching scheme where an amount raised for charity by the staff member or one of their close family will in most cases be matched by the John Laing Charitable Trust up to £1,000.
Staff are also invited to apply annually for a donation of £500 from the Make a Difference Scheme. For this scheme the staff member or one of their close family must have as association with the nominated charity. We ask staff to choose a charity where £500 will make a real difference.
