Champions and work streams

John Laing’s CSR group includes ‘champions’, who work with small groups of motivated staff to help effect change in eight key areas, including: human capital, the natural environment, waste, energy and water, materials, community, supply chain and communications.  Here you can meet our champions, see their over-arching policies and also view some examples of where our teams are making a difference.

Waste

Our policy is to establish and maintain a waste management system that will support: the reduction in the volume and toxicity of waste; the increased re-use of waste as a resource; and the recycling of any additional waste. This will help to reduce the costs of service provision and to meet our legislative requirements.
