Home > Corporate & social responsibility > Forum for the Future Forum for the FutureForum for the Future entered into a partnership with John Laing in 2006. This engagement has been greatly welcomed because of the company’s influence over the planning, procurement and operation of public sector infrastructure like schools, hospitals and railways. This represents a significant contribution to the communities of today and tomorrow, and needs to be provided in a way that is environmentally responsible and socially just.The first year of the partnership has focused on building board level understanding and commitment around the principles of sustainable business, and what leadership might look like for John Laing. Of course, this is just the start of a journey and the next steps will be to transfer this learning into action on the ground - but we have been really encouraged by the willingness of the Board to accept and tackle issues like climate change and carbon management. We look forward to working with them in identifying and delivering practical business solutions to the environmental and social challenges that they face today.
