Four Senior Appointments at John Laing Projects & Developments

John Laing Projects & Developments has appointed four senior managers to its growing team. They are:

Howard Chick who joins as Director of Project Delivery
Paul Kirby who joins as Bid Director
Robert Cronk who joins as Senior Development Manager
Andy Howell who joins as Bid Manager

Jamie Kerr, Managing Director of John Laing Projects & Developments, said:

Bringing four senior executives in to the business with such a broad range of disciplines will only further enhance our service offering.

Details of the new appointees:

Howard Chick, 44 - Director of Project Delivery joins from KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root). Howard has specialist skills in Project and Programme Management together with international experience and specialist arbitration skills. He will be responsible for Project Delivery at John Laing Project & Developments which includes Project Management, managing the Banbury office and the Project and Technical Services group. Howard is a Chartered Engineer, FICE, FCIArb and FAPM qualified. Howard will be seeking to grow this team to offer a broader range of project management and technical expertise across the John Laing Group.

Paul Kirby, 35 - Bid Director joins from Rock Consulting where he has developed in-depth expertise in combining technical, commercial and legal negotiation on PFI and NHS LIFT projects. Paul will be focused on activity in the courts and further education sectors.

Robert Cronk, 44 - Senior Development Manager joins from the Redbourn Group (a private commercial property development and project management company). Robert has specialist skills in the development of retail, industrial and office properties. He will initially be responsible for redevelopment proposals in and around High Wycombe station, and working on other infrastructure related development opportunities. Robert is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS)

Andy Howell, 32 – Bid Manager joins from Amey Ventures. His project management skills will be applied to the Further Education sector and Urban Regeneration projects.

John Laing Projects & Developments specialises in public sector accommodation and rail infrastructure projects.

Our rail projects team were responsible for the first privately developed station delivered on the UK rail network at Warwick Parkway, a project initiated, funded and still owned and operated by John Laing. Coleshill and Aylesbury Vale Parkway are two further stations being delivered. JLPD is also pursuing a number of commercial mixed use property development opportunities alongside railway stations, the most advanced being a Ł75m scheme at High Wycombe.

In further education, we expect to start on site in August on the Ł55m new college facility for Hastings College. We will also be developing out three other sites in Hastings in joint-venture with the Gladedale Group.

The team also provides project management and engineering services to support projects throughout the John Laing group.
