Howard Chick has been appointed as a Director of JLPD with specific responsibility for the Project Delivery team which includes Project, Design and Programme Management, Technical Services and Whole Building Life Management.

Howard joined John Laing in the summer of 2007 from Kellogg Brown & Root where he was Director of Project Management and responsible for a range of major projects.

The appointments are with immediate effect and both will report to the Managing Director of JLPD, Jamie Kerr.

Jamie Kerr commented: “These appointments recognise the need to consolidate the growth JLPD achieved in 2007.  The wealth of knowledge brought by Andrew and Howard will be invaluable to our business moving forward.”

Our rail projects team were responsible for the first privately funded railway station delivered on the UK rail network at Warwick Parkway, a project initiated, funded and still owned and operated by John Laing.  Coleshill and Aylesbury Vale Parkway are two further stations being delivered. 

In further education, we are building on our experience at South East Essex College where we designed and constructed modern college facilities, whilst covering shortfalls in financing by developing the colleges existing sites.  We offer a complete solution to further education colleges which might also form part of a larger development site.  At Hastings College we are developing two sites, one of which is a new college facility together with residential apartments.  We’ve joined forces with a major housebuilder to develop the residential apartments and three surplus sites which will be vacated by the college in 2009.

The team also provides project management and engineering services to support projects throughout the John Laing group.
