Welfare

Almost two-thirds of the John Laing Charitable Trust’s budget is spent, each year, on retired employees who are in need.

To qualify for support, retired staff need to have served at least ten years with the company and be aged over 50 when they left the company.  There are also financial limits concerning both capital and income to be met.

Former employees are visited by one of a small team of six welfare officers who identify and confirm instances of need.  Support is also given to retirement clubs and a quarterly newsletter is produced and available to all retirees.
