The Canning Town PFI pathfinder housing project involves the refurbishment, maintenance and management of 1,200 local authority homes in the London Borough of Newham, east London. The project was carried out by Regenter, the joint-venture between John Laing and Pinnacle Regeneration Group.
The local authority needed to ensure that its housing stock was brought up to a standard fit for the 21st Century and the work, which was carried out over a three year period has brought the properties in line with the Government’s Decent Homes Standard.
In addition the borough wanted the resulting accommodation to be managed for the next 30 years. This includes ongoing neighbourhood and community management, repairs and housing management.
Equipe, the joint-venture between John Laing Integrated Services and Pinnacle Maintenance Services carried out the refurbishment whilst Pinnacle is responsible for the housing management and estate services, under the overall responsibility of Regenter.
