British Transport Police

A 23 year contract to design, build, finance and operate two new police stations and to manage and maintain five others was awarded to John Laing by London Underground Limited, on behalf of the British Transport Police.

The £4 million scheme, which is now fully operational, included the provision of a new police station in West Ham, east London and a new police station and British Transport Police headquarters in Whitfield Street, central London.

In addition three London Underground-owned police stations at Hammersmith, Finsbury Park and Wembley Park are to be fully maintained and have a full facilities management service. Two more police stations, at Stockwell and Heathrow that are integral to the underground station have been transferred with responsibility for internal maintenance and FM services.

The project is managed by Services Support (BTP) Ltd, a company owned by John Laing.  Amey Business Services provide both the hard and soft facilities management.
