The Cleveland and Durham Police Tactical Training Centre is a state of the art facility for the training of police officers in the use of firearms. It was the first of its type to be developed under PFI and provides 6,200 training places annually to police officers.
The facility comprises a 30 metre, 180 degree firing range, a 100 metre internal firing range with electronically generated targets, a laser judgemental range, an abseil tower, a climbing wall, skills house for close quarter contact training, method of entry rigs, an external baton range, a vehicle stop and search area, classrooms and a lecture theatre.
The fully operational £6 million project, which covers an area of more than 4,000 sq metres, has a duration of 25 years.
John Laing Integrated Services provides range, armoury and systems maintenance, in addition to managing IT systems, building maintenance, asset renewal, security, specialist cleaning, grounds maintenance and catering services.
