Forth Valley Hospital

The Forth Valley project will provide a new 95,115 sqm, 860 bed hospital in Larbert, Scotland.  The hospital will centralise acute healthcare services along with the majority of mental health services currently provided at the existing Stirling and Falkirk Infirmaries.

Financial close was reached just ten months from the Forth Health consortium being officially appointed preferred bidder.

The new hospital will feature an innovative atrium at its focal point, with clinical buildings arranged in a village-like design providing easy access for patients and visitors.

The first phase which is due to be completed in 2010, will equip the hospital with 80 per cent of the required wards.  Phase 2 will provide a mental health division and will be completed by 2011.  A further phase involves setting up and providing health services for women, children and A&E.

Laing O’Rourke is carrying out the construction of the hospital on the 130 hectare site.  Serco will provide hard and soft FM services during the 30 year concession.

Once completed, the people of Forth Valley will have a new, state-of-the-art hospital providing modern, high quality services.
