Development Managers

We are interested in receiving applications from experienced Development Managers. In joining the Property team within John Laing Projects and Developments (JLPD), you will progress mixed use development opportunities from acquisition phases through to completion.

Responsibilities Include:

• Working with a Development Director on 3- 4 projects from acquisition and inception through to completion
• Working up schemes and appraisals for consideration by board
• Completion of site assembly
• Negotiation of planning permissions
• Securing necessary prelets and/or presales, which may be public sector uses such as FE or health
• Working with project management colleagues to secure delivery

        Skills and Experience Required:

• Graduate; relevant degree desirable, e.g. Estate Management  / Surveying pofessionally qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS)
• Proven post qualification relevant experience in development and experience in working on mixed use developments and site acquisitions
• Ability to immediately run own projects
• Strong interpersonal skills - a proactive, enthusiastic and motivating approach, bringing together the team (internal and external)
• Communication skills - express ideas and information clearly, fluently and confidently both in writing and orally
• Confident negotiation skills - able to get fully involved in negotiations with planners etc
• Good numeracy and analytical skills
• Ability to work both in a small internal team and bigger external team, as well as independently
