John Laing staff were invited to nominate a charity that they cared passionately about to receive the donation. The nominations were then anonymously judged from a selection of people across the business. The Vukukhanye charity was the clear winner and here’s why.
The charity, which originally operated under the name ‘Save a Child’, was founded in 2001 as a project to focus initially on the foster care of orphans and vulnerable children, including those affected/infected by HIV/AIDS.
Given the ever growing need for holistic community support, the objectives of Vukukhanya were expanded to include a broader range of public benefit programmes.
