East Dunbartonshire Schools

Six new secondary schools are to be built in East Dunbartonshire - a project which will benefit around 6,000 pupils, providing young people and communities with modern school buildings that are fully suited to their needs and the challenges of the 21st Century.

East Dunbartonshire Council selected InspirED to deliver the schools, which are scheduled for completion in 2009. InspirED, a consortium between John Laing, Amec and Innisfree will provide the equity. Amec is the design and build contractor, as well as provider of hard facilities management, for a 30 year contract.

The six new schools are Bearsden Academy, Bishopbriggs Academy, Douglas Academy, Kirkintilloch High School, St Ninian’s High School and Turnbull High School. Financial close for the project was achieved in August 2007.
