Home > Roads & bridges Roads & bridgesEvery year, more than 150 million motorists are driving on road concessions managed by our people and our partners. The spectacular Second Severn Crossing between England and Wales, the E4 motorway between Helsinki and Lahti in Finland - the Nordic region’s first ever PPP project - and Norway’s E39, with almost half of its 22kms in tunnels, all represent PPP success stories for our clients, the commissioning authorities and their communities. For more than 30 years we have been associated with some of the most challenging and prestigious projects undertaken in the road infrastructure sector. We have created a first class business encompassing a generation of skills and experience that gives us the confidence to deliver the most complex of road, bridge and associated infrastructure projects. Every one of our road schemes is designed to reduce delays for travellers, improve road safety and ease traffic congestion, through a combination of careful design for long-term availability followed by planned and effective management throughout the life of the road. And we have a record of completing even the most complex schemes on time and to budget. Motorists, businesses and local communities across Europe will benefit from schemes such as the A1 motorway link, which will improve transit times between Poland’s Baltic ports and central Europe while easing the strain on local infrastructure; the landmark road-widening scheme on the London-Birmingham M40 motorway in England; and the Sirhowy Valley road scheme in Wales, delivered 3 ½ months early and described by Caerphilly Borough Councillor, Harry Andrews, as “an excellent example of partnership working”. Most recently, we are part of the consortium awarded the the M6 road project in Hungary, which reached financial close just eight weeks after Best and Final Offer. Our team, including our partners, who are individually selected for each scheme, brings project development, finance and operational skills to everything we do, while the award of ISO 9001:2000 accreditation in 2005 underlines our commitment to professional standards in this sector. Today, the national and regional transport authorities, in many countries, trust us to deliver and manage the biggest and most demanding road infrastructure projects, both efficiently and effectively.
