Since 2003, John Laing has applied its roads and transport expertise to UK street lighting, and is currently operating street lighting PFI projects in Walsall, Manchester, Wakefield and Surrey, as well as recently reaching financial close on the Croydon & Lewisham project.

Better street lighting provides an improved night time environment which helps lower the number of road accidents, creates a safer environment for pedestrians by reducing crime levels as well as providing general environmental and economic benefits for the community.
