Community Partners
John Laing has the benefits of accrued community investment and is supported through the Group's Charitable Trust. The Trust has a community investment policy of supporting charities where there is the ability to demonstrate the impact of the support to make a difference. Historically the Trust has achieved this by supporting causes in areas where the Company has specialist knowledge.
We have a number of community partnerships with leading charities that have specialist skill sets within our activity areas,we hope that all our partnership relationships will last the test of time. As you will see from our community partner profile, there are a number of key organisations that we have supported for decades.
In providing financial support we set the aim and objective to make a difference. To us it is simple, if we can't prove we have made a difference then we haven't. However, our long term support of several organisations is testament to our success in working with partners to meet this aim.
John Laing strongly believes that once the physical infrastructure and the community environment is improved the quality of the lives of those living in the community is improved and aspirations are increased.
Experience has shown that housing and other social infrastructure developments thrive best when as much care is given to the environment as to the condition of the buildings themselves. In these successful communities people's aspirations are raised; they expect more from themselves and those around them and so they feed more back in.
John Laing is developing partnerships with charitable organisations that can benefit from our long term investments, in facilities from which they can deliver their services or work with the service provider to improve and modernise service delivery.
Examples of such projects are The Prince's Trust, Continyou and Victim Support.
