For the fourth year running John Laing has held a competition for staff to nominate a charity to receive a donation of £5,000 from the John Laing Charitable Trust. This is in place of the Group sending Christmas cards in December.
The rules were simple; the charitable cause had to be one the member of staff was involved with and cared passionately about and where a donation of £5,000 would make a huge difference. Many worthwhile charities were nominated and the judges had a difficult decision to make. The nominations were judged anonymously andthe Christmas 2009 donation was made to People and the Dales, part of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. The charity was nominated by staff member Neil Smith who is based in Allington House.
