Staff Commitment

In 2007, John Laing launched two schemes to encourage our staff to get fully involved in CR activities.

The first, required every member of staff to sign up to a personal CR objective as part of their annual appraisal. Activities range from individual effort for example, helping a charity with specialist advice, or team activities, such as planting trees at a local school.

The second was the launch of the Chief Executive's awards for innovation in CR. All members of staff were invited to nominate themselves or colleagues, either as individuals or as a team to be considered for an award. Eight of the categories correspond with our CR workstreams, and there is a ninth special award for the person or group that has made the most outstanding contribution to CR.

Links below show examples what our staff did in 2007 and 2008 to win and the worthy causes that are benefitting from their donations. The scheme ran again in 2009 and the winners will shortly be announced and we are delighted to announce that the scheme will run again in 2010.
