John Laing Group appoints Robert Newton as a Director within its Portfolio & Risk Management team

John Laing Group has appointed Robert Newton as a Director within its Portfolio & Risk Management team. He will report to Scott Springett, who leads the Portfolio & Risk Management team.

Robert joins John Laing from Singapore Sports Hub, a 35-hectare sports and entertainment facility developed under a public-private partnership (PPP), where he is an Independent Director, having previously served as the hub’s Chief Transformation Officer and Board Director.

Prior to this, Robert was a Director in the Asset Management team at InfraRed Capital Partners, where he had Board-level responsibility for a range of PPP assets in the health, education, road, rail and court sectors.

Robert was previously Managing Director at Brookfield Services and Wiltshier FM, two-UK based facilities management businesses focused on the PPP sector, as well as Managing Director of Hyder Consulting, Thailand, an engineering consultancy. Robert began his career at Skanska Construction.
