John Laing achieves 3 star ranking in Business in the Community’s Corporate Responsibility Index
John Laing today announces that it has been recognised with a Three Star ranking by Business in the Community in its 13th annual Corporate Responsibility Index (CR Index), the UK's leading voluntary benchmark for responsible business.
John Laing achieved a score of 91%, an increase on the company’s score in 2014, and performed strongly in Corporate Strategy, Community and Environmental Management and Disclosure. In Corporate Strategy in particular, which examines corporate vision, values, effective governance, CR risks and opportunities to the business, John Laing achieved a score of 100%.
Since 2002, the CR Index has provided unique insight into how businesses are driving the responsible business practice that will help secure a sustainable future.
The Three Star Award demonstrates that John Laing has effectively integrated corporate responsibility principles into the company’s business model and has clear CSR responsibilities and incentive structures at board and operational levels.
Olivier Brousse, John Laing Group plc CEO said:
"We are delighted to have achieved back-to-back Three Star rankings in 2014 and 2015 from BITC’s Corporate Responsibility Index. This has been a year of change for John Laing; we invested a record amount in new projects, including several clean energy projects; we also listed on the London Stock Exchange, helping to raise fresh capital for new investments. I am also very pleased we are able to continue our work with and support for the many different CSR initiatives we are involved with. John Laing remains committed to operating as a responsible, engaged and sustainable business."
