Pasilly Wind Farm
In December 2014 John Laing acquired the Pasilly project in Yonne, in the Burgundy region of France from Gamesa. Financial close was reached in December 2015, with Santander providing senior facilities. The John Laing investment was approximately (euro sign) 11 million.
The wind farm’s installed capacity is 20 MW from 10 Gamesa G97 turbines. Gamesa is also carrying out all balance of plant works, while Natural Power is providing construction management services. The project benefits from the French government’s 15 year feed-in-tariff (CODOA) and a 15 year PPA from EDF. Currently under construction, the project is expected to be fully operational in Q3 2016. The turbines will be maintained under a long-term operations and maintenance contract from Gamesa, and Greensolver will provide technical site asset management services.
Pasilly is John Laing’s first investment in France, one of the most active markets in renewable energy in Europe. John Laing is well placed to capitalise on this success and looks forward to continuing investing in the French market.
