John Laing announces senior team changes

John Laing Group (“John Laing”), a leading international investor and active manager of core infrastructure assets, today announced a series of organisational changes with immediate effect. These changes follow the appointment of Andrew Truscott as Chief Executive Officer of John Laing in March 2023.

APAC Leadership

Andy Haining and Duncan Jewell, both Managing Directors in Melbourne, will co-head John Laing’s business in APAC, reporting to Andrew Truscott. Andy and Duncan are critical to the growth of John Laing’s business in the region and will continue to play key roles in the company’s business development and asset management globally. They will support John Laing’s growth plans in the region and leverage the considerable talent in the company’s Melbourne and Sydney offices across the globe.

Global Head of PPP

Anthony Phillips will lead John Laing’s business globally with respect to new PPPs, assuming this responsibility alongside his existing role as Head of Americas, based in the US. Anthony’s global role will ensure that John Laing maintains the right focus on the right projects across both existing and new markets.

Global Head of PPP & Projects Asset Management

David Wylie, currently Managing Director, Asset Management, based in New York, will assume the role of Global Head of Asset Management for John Laing’s PPP portfolio. Ensuring that existing assets perform well is critical to John Laing’s success, and David’s unique expertise and oversight will ensure that the company’s asset management remains best in class and a key differentiator.

European Investments Team

Yangshi Yu will join John Laing’s investment team in London as an Associate Director. Yangshi joins from Macquarie Capital, where he has spent his career in the Greenfield Team in Europe. Yangshi brings significant experience in greenfield projects and will be a critical part of strengthening the company’s greenfield PPP presence in Europe. Yangshi will join in early September.

Chief of Staff

Juan Camilo Vega, currently an Associate Director in the Strategy team, will assume the role of Chief of Staff. Two of John Laing’s core objectives are to improve processes and enhance efficiency and Juan will play a key role in achieving these.

Andrew Truscott, Chief Executive Officer of John Laing, said: “These changes will help John Laing to fulfil its growth ambitions, leverage the expertise of its people globally and ensure its asset management remains best in class.”
