John Laing acquired a 38.3 per cent stake in Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi to Warkworth in December 2025, marking the Group's re-entry into the New Zealand PPP market and adding a high-quality, long-term availability-based asset to its Asia-Pacific portfolio.

The acquisition marked the Group’s re-entry into New Zealand with a strong and stable PPP framework and a good pipeline of PPP projects, a core area of John Laing expertise.

Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi to Warkworth (NX2) is 18.5-kilometre motorway extension that runs north of Auckland, improving safety, connectivity and resilience for road users while significantly reducing travel times on a key route serving the upper North Island. John Laing acquired its 38.3 per cent equity stake from Morrison Infrastructure's Public Infrastructure Partners portfolio, with acquisition completion reached on 23 December 2025.
