The facility is a state-of-the-art, 270-bed children’s hospital servicing 330,000 patients annually.

The old hospital was partly demolished to enable the expansion of the adjacent park, which was integrated into the design via a land swap arrangement with the park owner, the City of Liverpool.

Seventy-five percent of the new hospital rooms are en suite for single patients and each ward has an outdoor balcony overlooking the park.
